Regina Hair|Skin|Body Specialist: LPG Endermologie Treatment

Wanting to slim down is a wish or resolution most girl makes but majority had difficulty keeping to it. I have a pear-shape figure, which means I’m actually bottom heavy, a common problem in office ladies who have a sedentary lifestyle. So I am always looking out for body contouring solutions (fast ones if possible) as we never know when we might have a sudden photo shoot, date or trip after a festive period (Christmas, Chinese New Year etc), or wanting to look even better in preparation for your big day…

I was invited by Regina Hair|Skin|Body Specialist (previously Regina Hair Removal Specialist) to try out their services some time back together with the Honeyzcube belles at Wheelock Place. I decided to take up the 2 weeks intensive LPG Endermologie Body Contouring treatment with them to see how effective the treatment is.

So the LPG machine is this large robot-like machine which allows therapist to select different slimming/contouring programs. The LPG Treatments are FDA approved, pain-free, Non-invasive and 100% natural. I took up the Lipomassage for my thighs, as it assist in the reduction of cellulite and free localized fat that is trapped below the skin. This helps to erase localized fat and imperfections.

The Science behind the LPG Machine

According to the therapist, the LPG machine has a Ergodrive head, which is equipped with LPG’s patented, independent motorized rollers.

The rollers have three actions: ROLL’Up, ROLL’In and ROLL’Out which gently yet intensively conditions skin tissue in various ways:
ROLL’ Up: Eliminate fat deposits, revitalize blood and lymphatic circulation
ROLL’ In: Reactivate lipolysis (responsible for more than 70% of the fat elimination)
ROLL’ Out: Stimulate the collagen and elastin production and firm slackening skin.

My Problem

For the LPG treatment, I had to wear this stretchy white “space-suit” which shows all the curves and flab on my body. If you’ve followed my previous fitness posts with Physical ABuse, I’ve complained about how my thighs are not proportionate to my whole body. So like many office ladies, I have a pear-shape (heavy bottom) body which give me headache when choosing clothes to wear!

What’s more? I also have ugly cellulite on the back of my thighs (Yes, I kinda squeeze them out by lifting my legs) which is really (more) obvious when I sit down cross-legged. According to the therapist, the treatment can also help reduce cellulite!

The Body Contouring Lipomassage Treatment

The treatment took about half an hour, where I had to lay on my stomach for 15 minutes, doze off, and flip over for another 15 minutes. The therapist then set the program and start using the roller according to the guide displayed on the screen.

The machine claimed to be able to get rid of “saddlebag thighs”, “banana bulges”, fat deposits riddled with cellulite dimples… and basically any figure defect at the Arms, Back, Stomach, Waist, Saddlebags, Buttocks, Thighs and Knees, which can’t be removed by exercise and diets. So does it REALLY work? Read on!

The Regina Experience and Results

The roller on your thighs and butt felt like 2 wheels rolling across your skin, and there was a vacuum suction in the middle of the two wheels sucking the flabs/flesh as it rolls. To me, the first 15 minutes when it was done on my back thighs, the experience was quite comfortable. It felt just like a mini massage. The real “pinching” pain came when I had the roller on my stomach (i did just once to try out), to see if it can help flatten the tummy. What I overlooked, was that the skin at the stomach is so much thinner than that of my thighs, the discomfort was multiplied by 3! If you want to know the difference in the pain, is like pinching a thick wad of flesh versus pinching just a bit of the skin.

Being rather ambitious and anxious for the results, I got the therapist to increase the strength of the suction. As the frequency gets higher, there will be certain parts of the thighs (it was the inner thighs for me) that will become more tender. Even though I didn’t feel as if I was doing any exercise, after the second treatment, my thighs were aching a little (it’s the muscle-ache kind of sensation) and it felt as though I’ve done a half hour sprint.

Out of the three actions, Roll’ Up, Roll’ In and Roll’ Out, Roll’ Out was the most comfortable, while Roll’ Up was the most nerve-touching when I’m lying down on my back (face up). With the high frequency, there were several times when I almost sat up when the roller went up and over my thighs. It wasn’t exactly pain per say, but it was more of lying down and having someone use a rolling-pin across your thighs? It triggered my nerves to make me want to sit up. But again, I was adventurous and wanted to see how far I could go. So the whole experience didn’t have to be that “exciting” for you!

After 6 treatments (three times a week for 2 weeks), I was a tad disappointed to see no weight loss. BUT, the inches lost around my thighs was quite a surprise. I had lost a range of 0.5cm to 3 cm from my waist to my thighs, and this had proved that the toning and “slimming” function of the LPG machine really works! But if you are looking at weight loss, it might be more effective if you were to have a healthy diet plan to go with this treatment!

Verdict

LPG is not exactly going to perform any miracle by cutting off your fats within 2 weeks, the effects will be more long-lasting if done over a long time instead. However, if you are looking at spot contouring or slimming, Regina may just be your very choice!
